Chargers Sign Ryan Carrethers; Place Jerry Attaochu on Reserve
On Saturday, the Los Angeles Chargers made an announcement that nose tackle Ryan Carrethers has been signed to the active roster off the practice squad. Ryan Carrethers takes the place of outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu, who was placed on the Reserve-Injured list with a foot injury. Jerry Attaochu was marred by injuries in 2016 season, what’s more, he comes to an end after breaking his foot late in Sunday’s 21-13 win over the Houston Texans. Jerry Attaochu ends 2016 season with eight tackles, two sacks, nine pressures and seven QB hits over parts of eight games. However, Jerry Attaochu also ranked fourth on the team with four special teams tackles.Ryan Carrethers is a 6-1, 333-pound nose tackle who began the year on the active roster before being moved to the practice squad heading into Week 5. Initially a fifth-round pick in 2014, the Arkansas State product has appeared in 20 games with three starts. Up to now, totaling 41 tackles over his career.
